My personal journey into the world of creativity began in earnest in July of 2003 when I was laid off from my job in Corporate America. While I liked my job and my co-workers I was tired of working long hours and having no time for myself. For several months I had been plagued by a persistent question: Isn’t there more to life than this? I longed to do something meaningful and positive with my life.

Initially I intended to take three to six months off to rest and regroup. But every time I tried to work on my resume, I got sick to my stomach. Soon those three to six months stretched into a year, then eighteen months…During this time I began to explore the world of writing. But I also began to realize that I was attracted to other creative pursuits as well.

In addition to pursuing my own creative interests, which thus far include writing, beading, mosaics, and card making, I have come to realize that part of my purpose in life is to help others tap into their own creative potential and realize their dreams.

Among the many books that have influenced me is Jill Badonsky’s The Nine Modern Day Muses (and a Bodyguard). When Jill announced that she was beginning a program to train others to become creativity coaches utilizing her approach, I quickly signed up. I have now completed her creativity coaching training as well as her Muse Group Leader Training for facilitating creativity workshops.
